Canada Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs)

Canada's Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) allow individuals to become permanent residents (PRs) if they want to live in a specific province or territory.

Let's get started!

What Are Provincial Nominee Programs?

Every province and territory creates its own PNP streams based on its needs. These needs may be related to the economy, population, or local job shortages. Every province in Canada except Quebec and Nunavut has several PNP streams. Each stream has its own unique rules because each province has different needs.

PNPs are popular because many people find them easier than other ways of getting permanent residence. A province first nominates you, and then you apply for PR from the federal government.

The Two-Step Process:

  • You apply to the province and get a nomination.
  • You apply to the federal government for permanent residence.
